Saving Grace for Branden in South Africa

Branden Grace beat Ernie Els and Retief Goosen in a dramatic three-way South African play-off to take the Volvo Golf Champions title.

Els had put himself in contention for victory with a final-round 67 to finish 12 under, while Grace missed a short putt on the 18th to win it over 72 holes. Scotland’s Paul Lawrie and Ireland’s Padraig Harrington finished the game joint for 10th.

Grace won his first European Tour title at the Joburg Open last week after qualifying via the 2011 Qualifying School last month. The man now becomes the first player to follow-up his maiden European Tour success with another win since Fred Couples back in 1995 after carding a 71.
