adidas Golf to dress Team USA at 2016 Rio Olympics
It has been announced that adidas Golf will be the official uniform providers for Team USA when the sport makes it long-awaited return at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
adidas will clothe the players representing the United States, along with their coaches and support staff, in a move which is sure to drum up significant interest from other golf brands eager to follow suit.
President of adidas Golf Ben Sharpe was at Trump National Doral in Miami on Tuesday when the announcement was made, and said: "We are elated that the game's best players will showcase their talents in our apparel on the world's greatest stage.
"The storied history of adidas has long been associated with the greatest athletes in the world, and we're proud to support the athletes of the USA Golf Team as they compete for their place in Olympic history."
The men and women who take part for Team USA in Rio de Janeiro will each receive layering pieces, polo’s, pants and outwear that adidas says will be “designed and engineered to the highest levels of innovation the brand has ever developed.”
The world is yet to see the Olympic line of apparel as it hasn’t been unveiled, however adidas is also creating a USA-branded line of apparel which will be made available for the public to wear this year.
Brand ambassadors for adidas Golf Dustin Johnson and Jessica Korda were also present in Miami for the exciting announcement.
