Golf Pride Celebrates Open Championship Dominance
According to data compiled by the Darrel Survey, 81% of competitors’ trusted Golf Pride grips in last week’s Open Championship at Muirfield.
The statistics are very interesting, with results showing a staggering 126 of the 156-strong field that teed up used a Golf Pride grip.
This latest achievement from Golf Pride only strengthens the tight grip which the company hold over the major events. At this year’s Masters Tournament 82% of the field opted for their grips to enhance feel and performance, while 79% of golfers used the grips at the US Open.
Golf Pride is the no.1 grip on Tour for many golfers and over the years has enjoyed a remarkable success rate. The same statistics even show that 8 out of the 10 Masters and US Open winners used Golf Pride grips while 9 out of the last 10 winners of the Open Championship used the company’s popular grips.
Conor Dillon, Golf Pride’s Sales and Marketing Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “We are delighted to announce that Golf Pride grips were the No. 1 choice for the vast majority of competitors at this year’s Open Championship at Muirfield. That continues a long-term trend that has seen Golf Pride dominate the grip count at the Majors for many years.”
He added: “Our grips also remain the No. 1 choice on all the major Tours and that is particularly gratifying because we do not pay players to use our products. Golf Pride invests extremely heavily in R&D and that translates into superior products, both in terms of quality and performance. That is why Tour players elect to use our products and it makes us very proud.”
