Joost Luiten victory at the Wales Open continues Titleist Golf’s 2014 dominance
Joost Luiten put in a classic display of golf to claim a one-stroke victory at the ISPS HANDA Wales Open using his favoured Titleist Pro V1 golf balls, earning himself a fourth European Tour title of his career, while also adding to Titleist Golf’s amazing success in 2014.
Dutchman Luiten closed with an even par final round of 71 as he stormed to a 14-under par, 270 victory total. He was joined in the winners’ circle this weekend by four more Titleist golf ball loyalists who also claimed great victories on the LPGA Tour, Champions Tour and Web.com Tour respectively.
The feel and performance of the #1 golf ball on Tour was felt around the world this past weekend as many golfers placed their trust in the brand, with many of them having their faith in Titleist repaid with silverware. Titleist was also the choice of more players than all other competitors combined. A staggering 19,026 players have now chosen to tee up a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x across worldwide professional tours in 2014, compared to 3,201 for the nearest competitor.
Luiten had to play his way through a field packed with talent at The Celtic Manor Resort, which included the likes of Pro V1x loyalists Jamie Donaldson and Nicolas Colsaerts. As well as helping Luiten to victory in Wales, Titleist golf balls were the overwhelming favourite choice for golfers with 95 individual players using the now legendary Pro V1 series, compared to 21 for its closest competitor.
Titleist golf balls have now helped players win 17 European Tour events this season – more than three times the nearest competitor with 5.
