TaylorMade Golf prepares to launch White SLDR Driver

The countdown to lift-off has begun. TaylorMade has announced the impending launch of its hotly-anticipated return to white drivers with the unveiling of its White SLDR Driver; a new, sleek twist on its SLDR counterpart.

Golfers who have been calling for TaylorMade to produce another white driver should be more than happy with this announcement, especially those who either already own an SLDR and know its prowess on the greens. Fans of the white-headed R11 and RocketBallz drivers will also find this club much to their liking as it exudes a glorious colour scheme highlighting every subtle curve.

The SLDR White Driver does not feature alignment graphics so isn’t a carbon copy of the R1, however it does promote outstanding design capabilities such as bringing back the classical crown shape which will no doubt please a wider range of players.

There’s something wonderfully fulfilling about seeing this golf club when its out on the greens as that is where players will really see how powerful the contrast of white crown married up with black face really is. Plus this sleek colour combo should also help alignment accuracy at address, giving even more subtle yet undeniably positive change.

“Many golfers fell in love with white when it came out in 2011, and now we are delivering it with our low and forward CG for more distance when you loft up,” explained Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade’s Senior Director of Metalwood Product Creation.

The technology built into the white SLDR is close to the same standard model, meaning there’s a low and forward CG that reduces unwanted spin for more distance and accuracy. The popular sliding weight on the sole also helps promote up to 30 more yards of shot shape adjustment.

“The white crown with black button-back delivers a remarkable appearance at address,” Bazzel added.

The TaylorMade Golf SLDR White Driver is available to buy at american golf from 14th May 2014.
