Woods Sidelined by Injury
An elbow strain looks set to keep Tiger Woods out of action until the Open at Muirfield kicks off next month.
The 37-year-old will have to miss the AT&T National at the Congressional Club in Maryland due to the discomfort of the injury.
It is believed that the injury was picked up back in May during Woods’ victory at the Players’ Championship, and last weekend he recorded his worst ever points total at the US Open, finishing 13 over and 12 shots behind winner Justin Rose.
On his personal website it claims the elbow was aggravated at Merion after he felt minor discomfort prior to the event.
The AT&T National will take place between 27-30 June and the Open – which Tiger has won three times already, most recently in 2006 – will be held at Muirfield in Scotland from 18-21 July.
