Harrington: Good form has to start nowThursday 02 Jul, 2009 09:07:01
Padraig Harrington has claimed that he needs to put in an impressive performance in this week's Open de France ALSTOM if he is going to have a chance at winning a third Open Championship in a row later this month.
The Irishman has been struggling for form recently, missing cut after cut on the PGA Tour, as well as failing to make it through to the weekend at June's US Open in New York.
Commenting ahead of the tournament in France, which will see the Dubliner go head-to-head with Ian Poulter and Thomas Levet during the first round, Harrington said that he believes he has what it takes to challenge for a hat-trick of Open Championship titles.
'If I am going to play well in the Open it has got to start now,' he explained to BBC Sport. 'I'm running out of time but I am always optimistic.'
