Kim takes control on PGA TourFriday 03 Jul, 2009 11:30:00
Anthony Kim's last victory on the PGA Tour came exactly 12 months ago at the 2008 AT and T National.
Yesterday, he carded a 62 to break the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland and took a two-stroke lead over the rest of the field ahead of the 2009 AT and T National second round.
Darren Andrew Points, Bryce Molder and world number one Tiger Woods are the trio of players who make up the chasing pack.
All three golfers shot six-under-par 64s to stay on the tail of the impressive Kim, who has been showing signs of a return to form in the last few weeks.
Kim's last two tournaments before heading to Maryland were the US Open and the Travelers Championship - he finished in joint-16th position and a tie for 11th place respectively.
Prior to that, the 24-year-old had struggled with injuries and form since last year's AT and T National success.
