It’s all go for January after the R&A and USGA published their finalised Rules of Golf. So what’s coming in? Steve Carroll outlines the changes.
Rafa Cabrera Bello wins match with 72ft putt
It’s always better to win your match by holing a putt rather than waiting for your opponent to miss.
And Spain’s Rafa Cabrera Bello did just that to close out his second round match at the WGC Dell Match Play.
Just off the green on the par-4 15th, Cabrera Bello pulled out the putter and looked to make a birdie for the win.
The ball didn’t look like it had enough gas to make it to the hole but it crept closer and closer.
It then ‘did a Tiger’ by resting on the lip for a split second before dropping in and sparking wild celebrations.
Cabrera Bello ended up finishing third in the event to move up 18 places in the rankings and secure a spot at the Masters.
