Overview
The new PING i525 iron is a players distance iron, with a ballistic metal-wood-style design. To launch shots higher and longer, but with added control and consistency.

17-4 Stainless Steel Body / Maraging Steel Face (VFT)
To produce the i525, PING constructed the body with 17-4 stainless steel, with forged, maraging steel face (VFT). This face metal goes through a heat-treating process to increase material strength, to create a much thinner clubface. This allows flexing to add extra yards and carry distance and improved launch. The iron employs VFT which is commonly found in a metal-wood design. This greatly increases flexing for measurable ball speed gains that launch shots higher and further with the stopping power to hold greens.
MicroMax™ Grooves
The irons have fully machined faced MicroMax grooves and face for the ultimate in precision control. The grooves are spaced out more tightly with steeper side walls to make room for 4 extra grooves. The results are much better to reduce fliers in the short irons and preserve spin in the long irons.
Tungsten Toe Screw
The irons have a shorter blade length with offset and an additional Tungsten toe weight screw. The weight increases MOI due to mass savings from the new face geometry and expands the perimeter weighting and preserves ball-speed. Setting new standards for forgiveness in a more compact iron design.
Hydropearl 2.0 Finish
The Hydropearl 2.0 water-repelling finish, ensures better turf interaction, more consistent play, scratch and wear resistance, and a long-lasting premium finish.
