The fantastic TaylorMade R1 Driver comes with 7 standard and 5 upright loft options between 8° and 12° (±2°) to obtain an optimal launch angle along with 7 face angle options: Neutral/square, open, medium-open, maximum-open, closed, medium-closed and maximum-closed. Inverted Cone technology milled into the inner side of the clubface expands the portion of the face that delivers high ball speed while shot-shaping forward positioned movable weights promote a neutral/straight flight or a distance-enhancing draw. A thick-thin crown provides a lower and more-forward centre of gravity location promoting high launch, fast ball speed and low spin. A newly designed sole plate with a 7-position angles allows ±4° face angle adjustment to add to the flexibility.

The 7 standard and 5 upright loft options, ranging between 8° and 12° (±2°), allow players to obtain optimal launch angles without sacrificing shot quality, and the 7 face angle options (N/square, open, medium-open, maximum-open, closed, medium-closed & maximum closed) mean finding the right playing level is easier than ever. The R1 is fitted with shot-shaping movable weights that promote a neutral/straight flight or distance-enhancing draw, whichever achievement is sought by that particular player.

There are three main components that go into giving TaylorMade its unfounded prowess in the technology department. The weights, which are distributed low and forward to allow natural and straighter golf ball flight, a 12 position loft sleeve for ±2° loft tuning and a 7 position face angle sole plate for ±4° adjustment.
