WITB: Webb Simpson – THE PLAYERS Championship

Powered by National Club Golfer

A mix of the old and the new and a whopping FIVE headcovers.

The 2012 US Open champion made it back into the winner’s circle with a mix old the old and the new in his golf bag.

We’ve been banging on about hybrids recently and how important they can be for the handicap golfer so it’s interesting to see Simpson bagging a couple.

The Titleist staffer has a 913 and a 915 model in his arsenal.

He also carries a couple of fairway woods too taking the headcover count up to five which is quite a lot for a tour player.

Simpson uses Titleist’s latest driver – the 917 D2 – but then opts for a TaylorMade M2 3-wood.

It’s actually quite rare to see a Titleist player not having 14 Titleist clubs in the bag but he must have a little bit of leeway.

His irons are the new 718 MB blades which he uses from 5-PW.

Then the extra clubs at the top end of the bag only leaves room for two specialist Vokey wedges.

His putter is an Odyssey V-Line Tank Crusier which he uses with an arm lock grip to run up the inside of his forearm.

Simpon’s ball of choice is the Titleist Pro V1 and he wears FootJoy Icon shoes.
