A closer look at the Garmin G7 Approach GPS
The Garmin G7 Approach GPS has landed at american golf, bringing with it a wealth of user-friendly features and crisp technology that’s already proved a massive hit with golfers.
G7 Approach Overview
The Garmin G7 Approach GPS has undergone serious overhauling following on from the wild success of its predecessors. Players can now enjoy an entire weekend of golf on a single charge thanks to the G7 using less power and conserving more energy in a 15-hour rechargeable battery, while it can also give precise distances for more than 30,000 international golf courses – including free lifetime updates, PlaysLike Distances, Smart Notification and Big Numbers Mode. Garmin will also allow players to share-and-compare their scores with online access to Garmin Connect™.
G7s Smart Features
The Approach G7 offers an expansive range of features to help tackle any golf course. PlaysLike Distances give golfers precise distances to the target and is adjusted for uphill and downhill shots. Smart Notification is geared towards allowing social golfers the opportunity to never miss another moment by allowing them to receive emails, texts and alerts right to their handheld device, even if they're playing in the middle of the fairway. G7 receives wireless signal from iPhone® 4s or newer models, and lets players know when a message has been received, displaying full texts on its own screen whenever they are ready to read it. For easier viewing, Big Numbers Mode increases the font size of the front, back and center distances.
Target Setting and Stat Tracking
Colourful layup arcs at 100, 150, 200 and even 250 yards let players know exactly how far they need to hit when laying up. Excellent Touch Targeting means golfers can touch any point on the sunlight-readable display and it will show the precise distance to that exact spot – fairway, landing area, hazard or the front, middle and back of the green.
By utilising the Garmin G7’s enhanced stats keeps track of fairways hit, putts per round and greens in regulation. Check stats during the round or download and print them from a computer afterwards.
On the Greens
The Garmin G7 Approach GPS can zero in on the pin with Green View; just tap the flag on the map to get a zoomed in view of the green, where the flag can then be dragged to position where it’s visible, allowing for more accurate yardage results.
Even More Scorecard Options
Garmin Approach G7 doubles as a digital scorecard for a foursome with scoring options for Stroke Play, Stableford, Skins and Match Play with adjustable handicaps.
