American Golf Ladies National Finals line-up confirmed

American Golf is delighted to confirm the complete line up for the final of its inaugural Ladies Championship. 24 Ladies, who have progressed from regional qualifying events, will compete over National Grand Finals weekend at Ryder Cup venue The Belfry on 9th & 10th September. By the time finals weekend arrives over 2,500 American Golf Club members will have taken part in the company’s 2016 events.

Each qualifying event was hotly contested with just 2 points being the biggest difference across the top three qualifiers at each event. The stand out exception came with the remarkable golf played by Carol Ticehurst and Lindy Montadon at the South of England qualifier. The pair, both members at Sedlescombe Golf Club, came home with 51 points, winning their event by 5.

“After the success of our 9 Hole and Junior Championships last year, we added the Ladies Championship for 2016,” comments Daniel Gathercole Head of Marketing at American Golf. “We’ve been delighted with the amount of Ladies taking part and look forward to welcoming all the qualifiers to the Belfry for a wonderful weekend of golf that will end with the crowning of our first ever Ladies Champions.”

12 pairs now progress to the final at the Belfry to battle it out for the title in front of Sky Sports’ cameras. The American Golf Grand Finals weekend will crown the winners of the Ladies, Seniors and 9 Hole Championship and will be the culmination of one of the most ambitious competition series undertaken in Europe, underlining American Golf’s commitment to driving participation in the game.
