AG News: Rose reclaims #1 ranking after Turkish Open win
Justin Rose soared back to the top of the world rankings after edging out Haotong Li in a thrilling finish at the Turkish Airlines Open.
Phil Mickelson is one of the most recognisable golfers in the world and his partnership with Callaway is well known. So it was hardly a surprise when the news came in a couple of weeks ago that the company had offered Phil an extension to his current deal – just as it was no surprise to see ‘Lefty’ quickly accept the offer.
In a statement on Callaway Golf’s Official website, Mickelson talks about his reasons for not considering a brand switch and opting to continue his career as part of the Callaway team.
“When I joined the team at Callaway 10 years ago, I knew I was making the best decision of my career,” Mickelson said. “And I feel even stronger about the decision today. Backed by innovative technologies, industry-leading products, and the outstanding R&D group that works so closely with me, I honestly believe that these next few years will be the best of my career.”
Mickelson has enjoyed a stellar career to date, with his name already placed in the hallowed World Golf Hall of Fame. He has won 5 major championships and 42 PGA Tour events. As a Staff Pro, Mickelson will continue to use Callaway clubs, Callaway golf balls and Callaway staff bag.
