Henrik Stenson Headlines Flurry of Signings for Callaway Golf
Henrik Stenson has agreed a multi-year deal to join golf giants Callaway.
The 37-year-old Swede is currently third in the World Rankings and claimed over US$12 million in prize money last year, where he used a selection of Callaway Golf clubs on his way to victory at the FedEx Cup and Race to Dubai in 2013.
Now Stenson will use the brand’s golf clubs for the duration of his multi-year contract and will also sport the iconic Chevron logo on his golf bag. Both Stenson and Callaway Golf took to Twitter to announce the deal on Friday, with more details recently being revealed.
“Next up on #TeamCallaway for '14 is defending FedEx Cup & Race to Dubai champion. Welcome aboard, @henrikstenson,” Callaway said on their Twitter feed.
Meanwhile Callaway has been busy recruiting other top talents to their brand, including highly-rated 20-year-old Italian starlet Matteo Manassero. He was the youngest winner of the BMA PGA Championship on the European Tour circuit in 2013.
“After testing lots of different products, I am very happy to be joining Callaway and I am really excited to use their whole range of equipment," said the World Number 42.
Stenson and Manassero’s arrivals follow the addition of US pair Pat Perez, Harris English and Lydia Ko to Callaway’s books in early 2014.
