It seems that even Tour pros aren’t immune from the odd duff shot.
In the third round of the Valero Texas Open, Charley Hoffman fell victim to the kind of awful swing more often witnessed by your average club golfer than a PGA Tour pro.
Hoffman was only one shot off the lead on the sixth tee when he hit the rare wayward shot.
PGA Tour Shot Tracker generously recorded the shot as 212 yards. It also said Hoffman's ball reached the fairway – it clearly didn’t.
How did he react? He simply laughed it off. And proceeded to make par.
