It’s all go for January after the R&A and USGA published their finalised Rules of Golf. So what’s coming in? Steve Carroll outlines the changes.
Is this the luckiest golf shot ever?
Some golf shots need to be seen to be believed.
Brandt Snedeker must have thought his approach to the par-4 18th during the opening round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational was destined for the water.
But luckily for the American his ball bounced up in the air off a rock. After spending a couple of seconds in the air, it looked like the ball was surely going to make it into the water on the second attempt.
However, the ball managed to bounce up off a second rock and then not only land safely but cosy up to within six feet of the hole.
Snedeker’s reaction says it all and there’s no way he could have pulled it off if he tried a thousand times.
The shot did happen on St Patrick’s Day so perhaps it did have a bit of the luck of the Irish about it. Either way, it has to go down as one of the most fortunate shots in PGA Tour history.
