It’s all go for January after the R&A and USGA published their finalised Rules of Golf. So what’s coming in? Steve Carroll outlines the changes.
PING Re-sign Billy Horschel
It’s all smiles for PING today as they announced that Billy Horschel has re-signed with the company in a multi-year deal.
Horschel, ranked 35th in the world, originally signed with PING in 2009 after graduating from the University of Florida. Now, following a very promising year in 2013, he has put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him continue to use PING equipment.
The 26-year-old started the 2013 season ranked outside of the top 300 best players in the world, however a string of great performances, coupled with his first PGA Tour win, has seen him rocket up the rankings charts to finish the season in 35th. He is also 6th in the season-long FedEx Cup.
Horschel said of the new PING deal: “Continuing my association with PING gives me peace of mind as we begin the new season.
”I have full confidence in the quality of PING equipment, and the company has put its belief in me and they support me 100% on tour. It’s a true partnership, and they share in my success. I have a lot of goals for this season, so it’s great to have PING in my corner.”
Although finer details such as how much he will be paid were not disclosed, we do know that Horschel will be wearing a PING hat, carrying a PING staff bag and playing PING equipment for the foreseeable future.
