It’s all go for January after the R&A and USGA published their finalised Rules of Golf. So what’s coming in? Steve Carroll outlines the changes.
Jon Rahm shanks ball
Jon Rahm’s first tournament as a professional golfer and he was showing everyone that he could be one of the big names in the future.
However, it was never going to be a smooth transition into the big time for the Spaniard, and here on the 13th hole, a 162-yard par 3 hole at the Quicken Loans National he was brutally reminded of what can happen with a moments lapse in concentration.
He shanked the ball massively into the trees on the right hand side and from there went on to finish tied for 3rd place. A great effort for his first professional tournament, but how things could have been different if it wasn’t for one bad shot.
