Phil Mickelson hits his ball into a spectator’s umbrella

Phil Mickelson was a captain’s pick at the Presidents Cup and many questioned what he would bring to the party.

But as ever, there was never a dull moment as the five-time Major winner provided more entertainment than the rest of the team combined.

He holed out from bunkers, got penalised for using the wrong ball and was even the USA team’s source of good luck as his teammates rubbed his belly at any given opportunity.

But he saved his best for the Sunday singles. On the 11th hole he somehow got his ball to land inside a spectators umbrella.

After taking a free drop he then hit his ball into the face of a greenside bunker. An impossible up and down. But they don’t call him "Phil the Thrill” for nothing…
