Steven Bowditch hits fan in the face with wayward drive

Powered by National Club Golfer

Watching golf can be a dangerous past-time.

And one spectator at the Australian Masters may not be so keen to rush back after a wayward drive from Steven Bowditch struck him in the face.

The 32-year-old Aussie was teeing off on the par-4 11th but drove the ball towards some trees where it hit the unsuspecting spectator full in the face, reportedly breaking his nose.

The fan seemed to take the incident in his stride as after receiving treatment, he appeared to chat happily to Bowditch and course officials.

Whether Bowditch shouted ‘fore’ or not, it is hard to say whether it would have made much difference but it’s always better to be safe than sorry right?

Let’s hope it hasn’t put him off the game for good.
