Watch: Dustin Johnson sets up eagle with 350-yard drive

Powered by National Club Golfer

Could it finally be his time? Dustin Johnson is the nearly man when it comes to major championships with 14 top 20 finishes and a string of blown opportunities.

The American looks in blistering form heading into this week’s US Open after carding a seven-under-par 63 in the final round of the St Jude Classic.

As you’d expect, the course at Oakmont this week is long so could play into DJ’s hands if he can stay out of the thick rough.

He’s not the greatest under pressure so you get the feeling he’ll win by coming from the pack in round four, or blowing the field away early on.

His good form was highlighted on the 3rd hole at the St Jude Classic where an absolute monster 344-yard drive left him an iron into the 548-yard hole. He hit his second to 12ft and made one of the easiest-looking eagles you’ll ever see. He finished in fifth place, four shots off the lead.

If you think this could be his year, the bookies are offering 16/1 for him to land his maiden major title this week.
