Tour-Inspired Shaping
Callaway's Mack Daddy 4 is the most thoroughly tested Tour-validated golf wedge the company has ever created. Utilising Roger Cleveland's tireless work on Tour refining shapes, soles, grinds and camber has led to an even more compact shape with straighter leading edge and tighter leading-edge radius with slightly more offset – compared to Mack Daddy 3 golf wedges. By having a tight radius, it is now much easier to achieve clean contact on tight lies for maximum spin and control. "Tour pros like only a subtle amount of leading-edge radius," said Roger. "In the Mack Daddy 4 we gave them enough to make a performance difference while still pleasing the eye."
Uniquely Satisfying Feel
There are several variables that go into getting the right wedge feel. CG location, sole, head material, finish, shaft, and grip each play an essential role in this process. Callaway Golf has worked studiously to consider each of these elements, including the soft 8620 carbon steel head and Platinum Chrome/Matte Black Finish. Callaway's unique system of using four weight ports and milled aluminium medallions helps players to better position the head's COG (Centre of Gravity) to progress upwards as loft is increased for a more solid feel on a multitude of shots. A Dynamic Gold Tour-Issue 115 shaft and premium Lamkin UTx grip has also been added to enhance the already satisfying feel of the golf club.
